Can I camp with the Rpod hooked up to the towing vehicle or does it need disconnected?

You can leave it connected; its necessary in some places like Wal-Mart parking lots. You can use the tongue jack to level it out some but be sure to leave a big note on your driver's seat so you don't drive away with it down.
The 7-pin Bargman connector can stay hooked up, too. If you have electric hookups the converter will just top off your TV's battery along with the pod's battery. If you do not have electric hookups you must be more careful. You'll be drawing power from both batteries and if your TV battery gets too low you'll be stuck. Without hookups if you are staying longer than one night I would disconnect the Bargman from the TV.

Good tips. I especially like the idea of leaving oneself a big note, because I'm the kind of person who would forget and try to drive away. |

The Note is a GOOD IDEA. I tried to drive away with a Claw still hooked to the r-pod tire. At least I heard the noise and stopped before the fender was torn off . . .just a small wrinkle is left to remind me to double check everything.

I went to Target and bought a luggage tag and I attach it to my steering wheel as a reminder. I wrote Jack on it where the name is suppose to be written.

Some tow vehicles' electrical systems will automatically disconnect the TV battery from the Pod (e.g. older Jeeps). However, it seems that most new TVs don't. As a practice...disconnect the Bargmann plug from the TV whenever you park for any lengthy period of time.
