Our new 2013 R-pod has a standard fixed antenna instead of  the previous round one. On our first trip we could nor receive any TV stations and were not in a very remote area. Any experience with this type of antenna?

Where your cable line goes from the wall to the tv, there should be a little black push button, make sure it's pushed in ( little green light should come one beside the button) that will turn on the signal booster, that should solve her

Did you rescan for the channels?  There should be a menu option for it.

That's a good point with the channel scan I forgot to bring up, every time we go to a new location we have to do a channel scan

Thanks all,
we did the scans but no stations were coming in, our dealer said we did the cable scan instead of the antenna scan but we tried both.....and then also said that the new digital technology is tricky if channels are not strong enough nothing comes in.

There's plenty of times that we get 0 channels from the silly booster thing when we're camping.  I've been in campgrounds where my neighbor says they are picking up a few of the local channels and then we get nothing.

Not to say that it doesn't work because we've been places where we can pick up several channels and can get the news and weather which makes us happy.

I'd just never plan on or ever hope to pick up anything regularly.  It's hit or miss at best.

Thank you, we have heard that also from the dealer, so I guess we will follow your advice.

I agree, the digital system is ironically not as good as the old analog system.  For starters many stations went to lower power transmitters when they switched.  Also many moved from the VHF (2-13) to UHF channels which don't propagate (bounce) as well.  Finally, the dealer was right and where you could have watched a weak signal with "snow" with analog, digital just errors out and shows nothing.  A good antenna with good placement is critical for homes now and is very hit-or-miss with RVs.

we have found that DVDs are a great substitute for TV stations that you cannot receive.  Stock up on some of the classics and enjoy them again.
