Hi Terry,
We will be heading down St-Augustine on Sunday for 3 days, need to make reservations at Bryn Mar, checking out the weather for the upcoming tropical storm. In Charleston now, so far everything is Ok with the Pod, ciao,

Great to hear that you found the problem. Towing safety is the most important thing. A cold beer after setting up in-camp is #2. |

Thanks to both of you, we had a loose bolt under the tongue, the part facing down ( I think this is how you call the thing with the ball attached to it, in French we call it the Cochon). The dealer had probably not tighten it enough, a little weird but now we had it tighten. Hopefully this will solve the issue. We will also have the car inspected before we leave for Florida in October.

Maybe the ball is a little loose, or the latch on the tongue needs to be tightened. I would make an appointment with your dealer so they can do an inspection of the full rig and maybe take a test ride with you.

It seems that a change in speed is doing it. Maybe the ball and hitch are not matched in size? If the ball is too small it will "shift position" in the hitch causing a noise. Other than that I have no idea at all. Keep us posted.

We just came back from our second trip with the pod, everything was fine except for a Clunk-clunk Noise in the following towing conditions:
Drove for about 1hour at around 60-70 MPH in very windy conditions, was an easy ride even if windy When we had to slow down for the first time for a signal we heard this noise Turned the corner and drove for about 4 min, the noise had stopped We pulled on side and checked the hitch, everything seemed ok ( towing ball, chains, bars, anti-sway) Drove for another 45 min on highway with no noise, then had to slow down for another signal, same noise Turned and the noise stopped again and by then we were home We are driving a 2013 Infinity JX35 and it was already rigged to tow 3500Pounds It is the first time we tow a trailer We are thinking: Anti-sway bar? Something loose in the Infinity were the ball is attached? The all wheel drive system n the Infinity? Any advice or suggestions from similar experiences? Thanks |
