    Posted: 08 Oct 2012 at 9:39am
I know   ...it's getting colder now and almost time to put the Pod up for the winter - - but this is when I tend to start thinking about mods, even more than I do during the Spring and Summer.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has successfully added a window to the door or totally replaced the door with another one that has a window ?

Thanks in advance,

We bought the porthole window for the door but haven't installed it yet.  It doesn't come with RV putty or any silicone so those 2 items need to be bought separately.

We were waiting for other projects that would also need silicone, so we could use most of the tube up, but then I saw the large rectangular door window that could also open and now we are trying to decide which one to go with. Tongue

From the instructions on the porthole window, it seems really straight forward.  Just feel nervous about cutting a hole in the pod door. Embarrassed

Thanks,

That's the exact same one, from the same vendor we got this summer. Smile  They had a sale on it in July.

Thanks    ...that's more like what I had in mind. It pretty much looks like a factory option/accesory.

The porthole window is always open but it is tinted for privacy.  We have a piece of cloth strung across our door for privacy if someone is using the loo anyways, so we though we'd use that.

However the larger window looks good because there is the version that can open & close, but may require removing the current bugscreen and making a custom velcro one for the frame for inside access.

The one with the rain sensor and the remote control and stuff????

Oh and next spring the MoosePod might show up in your driveway that day.  Two windows in one day are better than one!  LOLLOLLOLLOL

Yeppers, rain sensor, remote, thermostat.. all that! It's 6 screws and two wires.. and $175.

And no problem doing two portholes.. but the farthest from home has to get their hole cut first.. You know.. so they can get back on the road soonest... lol.
