The water coming from the fresh water tank tastes like it came out of a plastic garden hose.  I use potable water grade hose from the camp spigot and an in line water filter.  The water (usually) tastes fine from the hose but ends up tasting like plastic from the r-pod kitchen spigot.  I've 'cloroxed' the fresh water tank and flushed several hundred gallons of water through it.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I normally drink bottled water when camping.  Sorry.

Where is your inline filter? We have one attached to the kitchen faucet and it tastes great. Of course at that point there isn't any more plastic to travel through (except the filter itself). Here's what our's looks like:

My filter is at the city water intake.  So my problem is with the r-pod plumbing.

They use PEX throughout the pod, so plastic taste would be expected for at least a little bit when it's new. How old is your pod? If it's not new, you might need to get a filter like mine for drinking water.

The pod is only a couple of months old.  I would have thought it would be 'cleaned out' by now.  How do you like the brita filter.  Most of the reviews on amazon say it's not worth buying because it falls apart very quickly.  They do say that when it works it works great.

Mine hasn't fallen apart yet Smile Better cross my fingers. Probably partly because it gets such little use (we only camp a few weeks each year). I can imagine in household use it would get abused significantly more.

When you say you have flushed it.. are you useingthe pump to flush the lines also? Maybe it's the lines between the pump and tank, that just need a good flushing??

Everyones' sensitivity for such is different.. I was in the Army on tanks for 20 years.. so plasticy/muddy/silty/etc water was more the norm, so I probably don't notice it.. but I will also state, for drinking water we use bottled most of the time when camping.. We have water in our holding tank that has been in there a while, I was going to drain it today anyways, I will pump some and see how it tastes.. I love science..lol

When I purchased our Rpod, I had the dealer install an Everpure filter on the cold water side of the kitchen faucet.  Just the cold water is filtered for drinking or cooking.  One of the best filters on the market.  Used as the "gold standard" in many restaurants for coffee, etc.  A cartridge lasts about a year and replacements at Camping World are about $35.  Never have to worry about questionable water any longer.  No funny tummy at questionable campgrounds.  Safe Travels.

I've  run lots of water through the city water hookup and filled and run about three tank fulls from the fresh water tank using the pump.  Maybe I should install the filter to the cold water line at the kitchen sink.
