My first mod was to lift the dinette table that is over built, and set it outside the pod in my barn -- permanently.  I am a big guy, but that table is way overbuilt.

My second mod was to purchase a mirror for the inside of the bathroom door.  I will use it for shaving, DW likes to use it for dressing.

Third will be the addition of a paper towel holder between the DVD player and the lamp.  This is over sink, not cooktop.

I like the idea of a mirror on the inside of the door, we hang a 20-position "shoe tree" on the outside of the door to hold our meds, hairbrushes, first aid stuff, etc.

We did the paper towel holder on the wall behind the sink first, second was a long mirror on the bath door {that should be standard equipment}. As far as the table goes it is a whole lot more stable than the original folding leg models of the early PODS and I think a lot easier to set up and store for travel.
The neet thing about the R-POD is the ability to customize it to suit your own needs and or taste.  Goose

I've got a full size mirror to mount but just can't decide on which side of the bathroom door to mount it on. Pros and cons on either?

I put ours on the outside of the door but I see that techntrek says that his is mounted on the inside.  It just depends what you believe will best suit your needs.    Goose

I guess we have the old style table with the folding legs.  Anyone have a link to the new style?

Goose our 2011 RP 172 has the folding metal legs on the dinette in the rear that makes a short queen, do the later models have a center post or what. I wonder If it is easy to convert, going to have to check up on that.

Thinker:

Yes, I agree with you about the size of the table as well.  We have a 171 also.  We did move those nasty little peg inserts to the back side of the table instead of in the middle where they gouge out a hole in your pants or legs.

I'm thinking about taking our table out also and sizing just the top down about an inch or so all around. to give a little bit more room for us.  We are not over sized folks but like you, have noticed the close quarters.

I was in the NAVY and we had more room in the mess on the ships than in the POD for chow.

These PODs are fun to modify though and we have also done many mods.

Thanks for your comments.  I hope you can play poker or something in your barn with the POD table.
