I have the same issue, everytime I open the slide it comes off (the bottom seal).  And sometimes it gets pulled in when I close the slide.  Haven't found a good solution yet.

Ouch  You have described the issue perfectly. I'll let you know if I find a solution. I'm going to write Forest River.

That is why I didn't want a slide out, I heared to many bad stories. My sons father in law has a fifth wheel, went camping, pushed the slide out but when it came time to go home the slide would'nt budge electric or hand krank. They had to get a tech to the campsite to fix it, then take it to the dealer to check everything out. Total bill 8000$ luckely under warrenty.
If you want something done right, do it yourself.

Slides are just like electric windows in a vehicle--they might cause problems. Yes, they are something else that may go wrong, so you have to weigh the benefits. You pay extra and you maintain and repair as needed. I know in our case we've always towed small in that our largest trailer was a 22 footer. I also know that as much as we love our RP175, we would not have even considered the purchase without the slide. So, "to each his own".

We will never have a TT without a slide. It is the biggest downside of the 'stream, besides total length.

Yes they can have problems. Friends had one leak and rot, had to replace the whole thing.. Under warranty thank goodness..

Sorry, geelse, no experience with this.  I had a manual slide-out in our popup but no slide-out on our 171.

Thanks for the welcome techntrek.  Just back from 6 days in the pod, perfect trip.  Just to clarify to all, nothing wrong with the slide at all; works perfect (excellent seal in and out, perfect smoothe operation).  It's just that the bottom rubber seal comes off when you open the slide.  Prior to shutting this time, I sprayed a little silicone on it to help keep it a little more moist and lubricated, but that's not a fix.  Not extremely worried about this, sure there is a simple solution which I will figure out.  hogone
