Part number for WH anode

     Does anyone know the part number for the water heater anode?  It seems there are aluminum and magnesium anodes and that the magnesium one is preferred.  If that's true, it would be great to have the part number and a source for the mag rod.

  The aluminum one is easy to find on Amazon and elsewhere: 
Suburban 232768 Aluminum Anode Rod 

  I assume this is correct from other posts here, but let me know if it's not.

  There is a mag rod somewhere, on Amazon I think, but it is about half the length of the aluminum one.  Does anyone know if that matters?   Since it goes in horizontally, the whole thing is submerged no matter how long it is.  Maybe mag rods don't need to be as long??

	Hidden down in the questions at the bottom of the website they say this is the magnesium rod, so the difference between Suburban #232767 and Suburban #232768 must be the material. Thanks! TT

	Basically, there are only two anodes available for trailer water heaters: Atwood and Suburban. Atwoods have a much smaller screw/plug than the Suburbans and Atwoods are half the length of Suburbans. The only other thing you may run into is a universal anode with built-in drain valve (like this). Its short like an Atwood and comes with a collar so that it'll fit a Suburban. It also has a drain valve which allows you to drain your water heater without fussing about with a socket wrench to get the plug out. In reality, I've found the very narrow opening frustratingly slow to empty (to the point where its useless). A short anode will work just as well as a long one - you'll just have to replace it more frequently.
