I can't say that. You would need to have more input from owners of Caravans that have towed.

Hi,

We towed our 171 and 179 with a 2013 Dodge grand Caravan mostly up and down the east coast from Vermont to Florida numerous times and back and forth to North Carolina. We had plenty of power and go fairly decent mileage. We towed over the years probably over 20,000 miles. never had issues and we still have our van and it still runs great. 
Last year we upgraded to a Ford F-150.

Congratulations and welcome!

Forest River has made a number of changes on the 179 since we purchased ours in December, 2015, but I think you have something other than a 179 since the door is in the wrong place. Did you mean 178?

Yep 178, my screaming 6 month old child waking me at 4am makes my brain tired.

We just upgraded our Tow Vehicle to a 2014 F150 XLT.  The longer wheelbase has made the tow a lot easier.  Sold the Blue Ox WDH we used with the Explorer sport and are currently just using a Weight Carrying hitch.
