Thanks everyone for your responses. My buddy works at a boat repair shop and has order me a connector so looking forward to plugging in!

Okay I think that I understand now. Did you not get the power cord with the trailer?

You don't need a buddy at a boat shop to get a power cable. This IS the standard trailer connector also, so any RV shop will have it. Or just order one online:
