We are picking up our "new" 2012 r-pod 177 tomorrow from a privte seller getting a bigger one.  We are "old" to begin this.  70 and 74.  Any other oldsters on here.  It does not have  a convection microwave in it.  Any suggestions? Do I need one made for an rv?

Welcome.  I used a dorm-size microwave in our popup for years without a problem, I don't think there are any special "rugged" models just for campers.

Hi 21 Grandma,

Our used 176 came with just a microwave. Would prefer a convection/microwave but instead bought a small toaster oven in lieu of. We're also of the older gen. I'm slightly younger and hubby older than you two. We have camped and rv'd in the past and were tired of trying to find rentals that were affordable and that took pets - thus the r-pod. We've taken two short trips, will take another week or two in a week or so and then will be back out in late July, August and maybe into September. We want to get away from the Texas heat as much as we can, while we can. I'm sure you'll enjoy your Pod - you're never too old!!!!

I had read somewhere that you had to have a special one for rvs that had more durable wiring than a conventional one.  Glad to know this is not the case.
