well like some of earlier posts we started late. I am 65 and Donna is 62 and we bought a 2011 RP-172 new and due to still working some we have to do 1, 2, or 3 nighters. We have a blast, Hike, fishing, short day trips, cooking on the open fire, walking around the camp ground and then after a while setting around the fire we make up the bed and watch big bang theory , Andy Griffith , 2.5 men DVD's and its not long until the bobble head kicks in. I am not sure why, but I think the combination of fresh air, open fire cooking and hiking cant be beat for a great sleep. We always rest well and feel refreshed while camping. The Pod cant be beat on design, price, value and Looks. We still are doing tours when we camp.

Howdy, Tom.  Casita vs RPod:  that was our question, too.  Casitas are built less than 2 hours from us so we had a chance to look them over pretty carefully.  We like the way they're built but I guess we decided they're over-priced.  For the money, I like Camp-Lite.  But, it's a lot of $$.  The Pod seemed like the best all around compromise.  HTH & good luck with your search.

"Old beginners" .. As good a way to describe us as any, I guess.  I just turned 70 last March so I guess we're part of that crowd.  We last camped - with a pop-up -  2o+ years ago.  Cranking the damn roof up & down with an a/c on it got old fast, so we got out of the camping business for awhile.  Just picked up our new 171 a week ago today, though, so I reckon we're ready to take another stab at it.  Just got home late yesterday after 1300 miles dragging it throu several states.  No problems.  Just fun!  Hope you'll join in.

I am 74 and just bought our R-Pod last week. You should have several more years to enjoy being an R-Pod owner.  Last Tuesday we drove the last leg of our trip back home from out west.  That was the last day we towed our 18' Aerolite Zoom, covering 625 miles mostly in the rain.  Very foolish, now that I have had time to think about it.

Welcome..
You are never too old. Camping keeps you young. I am older than dirt and love it.
