We brought home our new 178 on Monday (my Birthday!) and really love the r-pod.  We are stepping up from a very nice 2007 Fleetwood Element Graphite (it's fer sale!) popup that we enjoyed, but aren't really digging the pop-up RV lifestyle anymore.  It's tough to get away from the campground noise, thunderstorms, two weeks of preparation, having to dry out the tenting if it (enevitably) rains), loading and unloading during setup and tear-down that comes with the popup.

My wife is having a ball getting it ready for the first trip, to Cape Cod MA next week.

Star We have a 2014 178 also!  Our first trip is coming up in 2 weeks.  We've been yard camping from time to time, getting used to it and making it our own.  I've had the fridge running on propane for the last week and a half and it doesn't seem to be using any gas.  Starting to look funny at the gauge.  hehe

Have a great time making it your own.  I recommend checking out the mods forum to see what others have done to theirs.

Welcome!  We felt the same way at the end with our popup.

JCMoran, you can run the fridge for a month on a full tank of propane if you don't use propane for anything else.

Welcome! Good times ahead. It usually takes a few trips to get your own "routine" down. A lot of what you learned with the pop up will come in handy. I hear you about the pop up. I loved it when we first bought it. Used a pop up off and on for 16 years. When we bought the pod I was so ready to give all that up. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pod. It's like the pop up without all the tent trailer jazz. We still enjoy cooking/socializing outside so the pod is perfect. This forum is a great place to trade info and hints or complaining and bragging. We all love pictures, eh hem...

Just purchased a new 178. Going on the first trip tomorrow . I have been camping in an aliner for the past 10 years so the r pod is like a mansion. I love it!    I have been looking for a cover for it but can't find one big rnough. Anyone know where I can purchase one?

Forest River emailed me and said to call the parts manager at (574) 642-3119 Ext 209. that he is 99% sure there are covers to fit the larger pods.

Let us know who you talk to Linda and what they say.

When we bought our 181g I called about a cover and they didn't have them large enough for our models back then.  If the case has changed now I'd be very glad to know!
