We have GEICO and one of the perks from them is that if you're in an accident and have both TV and R-Pod insurance from them, you only pay one deductible for that accident.

After our crash, we were really happy with their flexibility on getting the repairs done. We ended up having claims and inspections on the R-Pod in three different states (TN where the accident occurred, TX during our half-way stop for Christmas and to do a few more repairs to make the R-Pod more roadworthy for the rest of the trip, and then CA for the remaining repairs that took too long to do elsewhere).

We have the same coverage from Progressive.  I think ours goes out 5 years from the date you bought your unit and then "freezes" in terms of replacement value.

When some of you are mentioning replacement coverage, do you mean just like with your car you'd get the value of what your Pod is currently worth?

Or actual "full replacement" of your Pod with a new one if it were totaled??

I think that the most surprising thing to me when I was getting the insurance figured out, prior to Pod purchase, was that it was not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be.

Whatever insurance company you select, you might want to consider having comprehensive coverage. Here's an example of why.  In July of 1996 we were in a private campground in Big Timber, Montana. We were returning to Washington State after doing all of the Black Hills stuff. It was about 85 degrees, and we were sitting in the trailer with the A/C on. About 10 minutes later every trailer, motor home, and tow vehicle was being pummeled by marble sized hail stones.

Tow rigs dimpled, trailer windows broken, aluminum siding ruined, hail in the trailer through the broken roof vents, and ruined A/C unit. The only uninjured vehicles were a few Corvettes returning from the Corvette get together at Spearfish, SD. We duct taped the windows, and vents, returned home and quickly checked our policy. We did have comprehensive. It would have been $7,000 to repair a $10,000 trailer.

Progressive ... full replacement coverage (will replace with current years model), good comprehensive / collision / damage coverage, towing costs, repairs to TV if caused by trailer, and so on.  Right around $240 per year for us.
