+8 in the carpet on the metal steps.  My older Golden doesn't like walking on metal that is empty underneath.

On the spilling water bowl, we picked up a Collapsible bucket (not this one) at Grocery Outlet.  If you just open it halfway, there's a bowl at the bottom with a moat around it to trap water, and high walls to block splashing.

Be sure to wrap the step with one of those carpet step covers. Buddy caught a claw in one of the slots and tore it off. Bled all over!

Our German Shepherd loves the R-Pod. She does refuse to use the step, though, and jumps right from the ground into the camper or from the camper to the ground. She quickly claimed the dinette bed as hers and patiently waits for us to put it down to a bed and put a sheet cover on the cushions before she jumps up for night time.

He is the biggest sweetheart. Just likes attention. In 1972 I was the handler for Chesty the mascot at USMC, MCRD, San Diego, what a trip that was:)

+1  Although my bulldog is now 11 she still manages to get up on the bed although I do have to help her off. I don't know if I could sleep without the snoring (white noise) in the background. Just started camping last year and she's a trooper.

Honestly, the dog is the main reason I got the camper.  Most motels don’t like dogs, and Espechially pit bulls!  I could have stayed in a lot of nice hotels for the price of this thing, but refuse to leave my baby.  Now we have the best of both worlds, comfort and the family stays together.  My dog will go anywhere just to be with us.

I guess we were lucky in that our pups took to it immediately.  They are so attuned to camping that they can tell when we begin staging the gear and follow us everywhere lest they be left behind!  They particularly enjoy lounging in the r-dome watching the camping world go by...
