There are some talks with Dometic about creating a line of domes that will fit better with Pods with risers.

I had the same problem, it took me a year dealing with my dealer to replace the r'dome for one that would fit properly. I to have a 172 2011, the new dome fits perfect. You need dome model no; 747BLU13102
There is a tag on the dome with a model number.

Welcome Ridgepod, I can feel for you, I had the same problem with my dealer, I made him an offer including the R-dome and GST, he thought my offer was way to low and almost laughed me out of the door he called 2 weeks later took the deal.
We all know we get screwed with the prices up here, the reason, we Canadians will pay the price and shut up.
Maybe it will change slowly, Target came up north with higher prices than in the US people are not buying, sales are way down.

There is one eBay dealer that does not indicate the bead size but is selling them for $149. If interested, you could contact him and ask about the bead size.

Well I checked ebay and they did have one for $199 which would have been perfect BUT they are for the older R-Pods with the 1/4" track. Mine being a 2012, it has a bit larger track and it won't fit well enough So I guess I will have to keep looking. Thanks for all your help.

Happy camping!!

Thank you Bob. I will definitely take a look. $200 is ALOT cheaper than $1,000. Can 't believe that.

Welcome.  Even accounting for the usual price jump north of the border, 1 grand is excessive.

I would check eBay.  At least two dealers have them for $199 and shipping is reasonable.
