We were at Hunting Island last Thanksgiving. Maybe it was two years ago. Great weather anyway. The place was packed though, all week the week after Thanksgiving. Fun place, especially if you like raccoons. Beaufort is a fun town too. We'll go back before long.

Yeah, we find it to be the best way of doing the week-long trips. And given that M travels every week for her job having that day at home to recover and get ready is the only way for her.

When we did annual trips to the beach we did the same thing, always going down Saturday-Saturday. Missed all the traffic and had a day to catch up at home before going back to work. Haven't done that in a few years with so many other destinations to see.

Splitting the weekend crowds by heading out on Sunday to the coast (Hunting Island SP in SC) which allows us to miss a lot of the Friday night and Saturday traffic, as well as the Monday heading home traffic. Spending the week there and it should be nice weather and no crowds come Tuesday!

Hmmmmmmmmmm...Podin' vs motorcycle riding. You are in for some tough choices, Larry & Pat. (But, how can you go wrong?) Sam |

We haven't received our Pod yet (just put a deposit down yesterday), so will be on our motorcycles heading north to Benbow Inn and riding through the redwoods. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

This week-end I have to travel from Ottawa to Sudbury to drop off our eldest daughter at Laurentian University (1st year). It will be the longest trip for the R-Pod but will allow me to check out three new Ontario Provincial Parks (write ups and pictures to follow) - Marten River (north of North Bay), Windy Lake (north of Sudbury) and Arrowhead (near Huntsville). I may also check out Lake of Two Rivers campground in Algonquin Park on the way back to see what their pet beach is like. |

After doing a good number of local outings this summer to get ourselves familiar with Cutie-Pod we are doing our last and longest trip to Kelowna.
Since we are based on Vancouver Island it's time consuming and costly to get over to the mainland but after a half dozen trips I'm eager to try doing a longer haul We just replaced the friction sway bar and after some research learned our TV has a transmission cooler already installed so I am feeling good about taking on the climb. |

I love Kodachrome State Park! We did the whole Colorado Plateau two years ago...Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Capital Reef, Canyonlands, Arches and Kodachrome...then caught the Great Sand Dunes on the way home as well as Mesa Verde. Fantastic places!

We can't go anywhere! This is one of our biggest weekends at the
property we manage. Then, as a reward for working all three days while everyone else is off, the following weekend is our annual owners' meeting! More fun! That Sunday night, however, the Key Pod will be brought in from the barn, stocked up, chilled down, and ready to roll! We're off to Manatee Springs State Park for a couple of "getaway nights." Don't call us- we'll (not) call you! |
