Well we don't normally go poddin on long holiday weekends. but, I had some minor surgery on my right foot and have not been able to be very active. I have had to wear one of those post surgery boots on my right foot, this means , no camping, no fishing, no going down into the woods etc. Stitches come out Tuesday and we are heading to Hoosier National Forest, our close to home get away. don't try to stop me. We have reservations. If I don't get out of this house and do something fun somebody is going to pay. (probably me) We are gone for a two nighter. Where are you going ?????

We like to avoid the holiday crowds too -- and Labor Day weekend will be among the worst in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but that's where we're headed anyway.  It's a free 3-day weekend and I'm going to make 9 days out of it.

We're still fairly new to pod camping, having always tent camped before.  We have reservations for 4 nights in the GSMNP, and we'll probably stay there the whole time.  It's really our favorite place to go.  But with the wheels under our shelter, and no worries about packing up wet, we might head out to other venues while we're gone this time.

I'm heading out also.  Just to a campground.  Being retired it is just another weekend.

Annual camp out with a bunch of family members and friends on Lake Huron. I think there's 17 campers this year.

We usually avoid the holiday weekends too, but within two weeks of this summer's vacation we were feeling the itch so we booked a trip for this coming weekend.  Hickory Run state park in PA, something new for us.  One advantage of the pod is you can block out the drunk rowdy holiday weekend crowd.  That was a problem in our popup.

We can't go anywhere! This is one of our biggest weekends at the
property we manage. Then, as a reward for working all three days while
everyone else is off, the following weekend is our annual owners'
meeting! More fun!

That Sunday night, however, the Key Pod will be brought in from the barn,
stocked up, chilled down, and ready to roll! We're off to Manatee
Springs State Park for a couple of "getaway nights."

Don't call us- we'll (not) call you!

I love Kodachrome State Park! We did the whole Colorado Plateau two years ago...Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Capital Reef, Canyonlands, Arches and Kodachrome...then caught the Great Sand Dunes on the way home as well as Mesa Verde.  Fantastic places!

After doing a good number of local outings this summer to get ourselves familiar with Cutie-Pod we are doing our last and longest trip to Kelowna.
Since we are based on Vancouver Island it's time consuming and costly to get over to the mainland but after a half dozen trips I'm eager to try doing a longer haul
We just replaced the friction sway bar and after some research learned our TV has a transmission cooler already installed so I am feeling good about taking on the climb.

This week-end I have to travel from Ottawa to Sudbury to drop off our eldest daughter at Laurentian University (1st year).  It will be the longest trip for the R-Pod but will allow me to check out three new Ontario Provincial Parks (write ups and pictures to follow) - Marten River (north of North Bay), Windy Lake (north of Sudbury) and Arrowhead (near Huntsville).  I may also check out Lake of Two Rivers campground in Algonquin Park on the way back to see what their pet beach is like.
