I want to replace the TV hanger on my 178 with a movable arm mount, does anyone know if the wall, and what ever they have behind,it is strong enough to do this?

The current 2014 178's have what they call a swing-arm mount in the entertainment center, allowing you to watch the 19" TV from either the dinette or the bed.  Take a look at the 2014 brochure on the FR R-Pod web site to see how it is mounted.

Our 178 won't be delivered to our dealer until November 15, so I can't give you more specific details.  I believe another member has this feature and might share some specifics.

We have ours on the wall outside of the bathroom, across from the dinette. I'll try to get a photo for you.

Mine is also on that wall, but the mount does not move. It just allows the TV to be removed with the pull chain. I also have a 2014 and it does not have a moveable arm, I guess they made a change. I would like to use a small swivel mount and need to know how they reinforced the area behind the present mount. Do you think I could get that info from FR? Ifso who and how do I get in contact with?

Our new 178 this spring did not have anything mounted on that wall to the right as you enter the pod. The panel is reinforced down the middle so we went to best buy and got a swing out TV arm and mounted it in that space. I would advise a shock cord across the face of the TV, side to side, when you are driving as the TV will swing out as you drive. TV reception in our drive way is great but we haven't stayed in a park with power/cable yet to really test it on the road.

Room for a Apple TV in the lower shelf as well.

Thanks that is the info I was looking for. Did you use the screws that came with the mount?

I didn't want to put holes in the wall so I used an under cabinent swivel mount...works great!

Another thread on this forum also talks about mounting a larger TV:
