1.5 qt is pretty small.. 6 cups. depends on how you use it. they are not expensive, if in the future you find you need something bigger, your not out a lot, and the small one will store inside the larger.. (pod thinkin' right there )
We use a cooler for our drinks. |

I'm looking at the oval 1.5 qt Proter-Silex. I think this is the size usually used for those dip warmers, but this one is oval which should fit a chicken breast. Is this the right size to get?
I'm looking to not have much for leftovers since there probably won't be much fridge space for storage since we usually pick up fresh beer along the way.

We used a crockpot this year for the first time also. Get for those cool fall evenings, coming back from a canoe outing and having a hot meal ready... We leave ours outside also.

We use one. no problems. It's no more "dangerous" than leaving it on all day when home.. The pod doesn't create some "danger wormhole" that causes 120v to act funny or run backwards..
OK.. well half the time it runs backwards.. but it does it at home too.. LOL. get a crock pot cook book. or google crock pot recipes.. |

I agree it could be a problem at some parks, but busier commercial parks haven't been a problem.

Won't leaving it outside attract animals?

Yup, we do it all the time. In the summer we often leave it outside so we don't smell up the pod. Roasts, dumplings with beef and veggies, chilli, chicken with gravy, etc.
