HI: Some counsel and advice please. I have been looking at the Honda Handi EU3000i and the Yamaha  2400ishc.Ouch

We want to be able to start and run the 13.5 ac units in an R Pod 178.  I like the Yamaha as it has the High Current feature which I assume will be enough to start the 13.5.  The Honda has a negative of only 1.5 gal tank although you can add the extra tank accessory to fed it . Weight is important as we both have back issues. Both have the 3 year warranty and a local dealer sells both.

Anyone actually used the Yamaha 2400ishc with a 13.5 ac and same for the Honda Handi EU3000i and what has been your experience.

There are a few threads on this topic. One impaticular that speaks to the technical side. I found before, but it was really informative. I dont run one so I'm no help, but search for that thread!

I have the Honda EU2000i and companion. I have the cap that pulls fuel from an outboard motor tank.

I normally don't need the companion. The Honda 2000 will start my AC (13,500 BTU).

It will not run the AC and Microwave at same time, but it does all lights as I have converted all interior lights to LED.

Honda is better than Yamaha. Honda has a fuel pump, Yamaha does not.

I have the Yamaha 2400ishc and have been very happy with it.  It runs the AC fine -- but not while running the microwave or convection oven.  It runs at least 11 hours with low load.  If you need to run the air con all night it might not make it, but it's always run longer than I needed it to before I had to fill it with gas.  Always starts on the first pull.  I wanted one unit that had more than 2000 watts and I didn't want to pay for the Honda 3000.  I have no experience with Honda generators -- I'm sure they're great, but I'd get another Yamaha anytime.

We used our EF2400is (not the newer isHC) this summer, running our A/C fairly cool, and it always lasted exactly 8 hours.  This includes charging phones, computers, running the lights via the converter.  Before this summer's trip I plan on adding an extended tank that will gravity-feed it from above (since it doesn't have the fuel pump).

Mine is black (Dometic LS 3000).  I noticed that Ryobi has a new green inverter that also shows promise but I have not seen any reviews of it.

The Dometic runs the air conditioner, but not when it is in economy mode.

Saw this site from Pinellas Power Products  for an extended run tank for the Yamaha EF 2400iSHC and it is NOT a gravity feed. Looks promising...anyone tried it?
