I have seen LED light strips listed on Ebay & in a camper magazine writeup. Has anyone done this? where did you source them? How do they install? etc. I'm thinking that giving the Pod a little "glow" underneath, while camping or driving at night would be a cool thing.

Furpod will comment shortly with pics and possibly video of his LED underbody Disco lightshow extravaganza.

But I'll post what he bought in the meantime.

It's near impossible to get a good video, or at least it is for me, of the lights "in action".. But they do look good in person. Thumbs Up

I used the kit above, + a couple extra tubes under our 177.

I ended up with 2 36", 1 24" and 4 48" tubes. I mounted them to the under body with 1" sticky squares and small zip ties made for securing wiring, after cleaning the area very well. I also then "glued" them in place by running a bead of silicone along their length. So far so good. Honestly, the blue looks best, and most of the time I have it in just static blue. I mounted the controller on the end of the dinette bench. They have like 20 different strobe and chase modes. But if doing it again, I would get the solid color kit, in blue, and save a few bucks.

The biggest "hassle" of the instal is all the extra wire, each tube has a 4 foot or so leader.. I suspect I could have cut and repined the RJ's, but I decided to just bundle and secure to the inside of the frame rails..

Also the the tubes come with "mounting clips".. throw that junk away before you put an eye out trying to use them, and bodge a better answer. But keep the heavy duty elec. tape they send, you will need/use it. If you run out, you can get more at the bigbox store where you get the 1" sticky squares and the small zip ties.. all in the same dept/shelf.

Here is a static picture.. again my photog skills are pretty bad. I am sure my camera could do better, I just don't know how to ask it right.. lol

BTW, on the tube placement I used, the tube under the rear, and ahead of the step are 36", there is a 24" under the step, and 48's's under the tongue, behind the curb side wheel and two 48's on the street side.

So Mark, do you have to wear sunglasses when you walk around your pod after dark?

What makes you think she isn't already slammed and bagged? Shoot I don't need no stinkin' stabilizers, I just lay the frame on the ground...
