If it is a long steep grade my speed will drop to 40MPH before I get to the top but on most Mountain grades here in the east I can keep it above 50MPH.  
I have pulled in the the mountains of Maine, New Hampshire and upstate New York. It is not the Rockies but you can get some steep grades on some of them.
