Well, since the R-Dome is actually a 13' Dometic...  I would think it would be too small.

It would seem that you would order a canopy that was only wide enough for the straight part of the track.  That might work and provide a quick cover.  I have the R-dome and only put it up if I am going to be there a few days.

The support poles came with the visor  kit direct from manufacturer.

OK  So Im rackin my brain to remember the guy who had it featured on a post.  He was tailing about the irritating screws in the channel that got in his way.  It was a 9x9 (brand? i don't remember) from Walmart.  He is a bit of a metal fabricator and had pics of his rear plug in steel carrier that he made…….Im still looking for the post…… Seemed like the best deal I have seen so far.  And simple

I just returned the Rdome that came with the 179. Very difficult to set up. I like your idea and would really appreciate a photo of the adjustment you made to the side that slides into the Chanel .Does the awning material come stitched up on all four sides? Is there any other tips you are wiling to share? Where did you get the awning? Have you considered attaching mosquito netting ?
