Hi all ...... we have ordered the optional bike carrier that fits into the rear receiver where the spare normally goes. I haven't actually seen the carrier and was wondering if anyone knows if it can be used to carry a ladies "step thru" style of bike, or does it take only those with a cross bar. Thanks!

As I recall the carrier engages the two wheels. You should not need the adapter bar.

I concur with CharlieM. I ordered my bike carrier from Forest River and paid a lot more than the exact same carrier sold by WalMart. Oh well, at least I have on record that I bought the FR approved carrier in case I have a warranty issue.
