I know I have read something about this but I cannot find it to save myself.  How does the r-dome fit when you have the optional lift kit on your pod?  I want to say I read it makes it a bit short and was hoping someone could confirm or deny this.

I have the lift kit, the r-dome fits just fine.
If you want something done right, do it yourself.

I have the lift kit, and the R-Dome is a bit short.  The rain flaps are still sufficient to "seal" the 'Dome, but
there is definitely a space under the tenting.  This gap is most prominent immediately adjacent to the
trailer and diminishes along both sides until it disappears at the front surface if the 'Dome.

We had after market risors put on our 171 and our r-dome fits fine. We use it all the time.

I also have the lift kit, plus just came back from a site that had me up 5in on the door side to be level. The dome was a little high near the pod but still had lots of flap on the ground. Don't cut any excess off the bottom screen so that you can curve it into the dome or trailer to help make it bug proof. As in poker " hit me"   in pod world "dome me".

Depends on so many things, two of them being what model Pod you have and what size dome you have.

13' domes on the smaller Pods and they usually fit fine, the same 13' dome on a bigger Pod and you will have some gaps.

This can also come into play with how level your campsite is.

I have a larger Pod, with risers, and a 13' dome and my actual tent part at the trailer side never touches, but the rain flaps provide plenty of extra material to do the job and you can still stake it down properly.

Thanks kymooses.  That makes sense.  We are thinking about the 178 so I'm guessing it would experience a bit of shortness.

For the larger pods, I spoke with Doug who is a tech at Mekellson's rv is Montpelier Vt, he advised that if you go to the (amazon or e-bay) sites and some others, you can buy the dome rooms that were made for the M.P.G. trailers that were made a few years back and were very similar the the r-pods. They make a 16 foot dome tent. Doug said he had to modify it a little so it would fit in the channel but it works great for the larger series of pods until forest river start making a bigger dome tent.

our 173 has the lift kit and the dome fits fine-there seems to be plenty of flap to seal the bottom.  we use it a lot if camped for more than overnight
