Just picked up a '15 HRE 177 and tow it with '14 Rubicon with 4.10 rear. Our dealer sells a complete package including weight distributing hitch and anti sway bar as they found that in general customers were happier in AZ when they did this. (Specifically if they headed North to the canyon area)
Just be cautious not to take too much off the hitch weight as you could introduce sway.

Picked up my 178 - no weight distribution hitch needed. Installed brake controller, towed well, slow on hills but fine on highway. Not a F250 but when I get put to the desert I have my jeep Rubicon.
Thanks to all who helped me do the research and make an informed decision!

I just completed a 172 mile round trip towing a 2015 rp172 with my 2 door wrangler with a techenosha prodigy brake controller and it did awesome. I couldn't go faster than 55-60 mph I dropped down to 25 on a 10% grade hill.

Your JKUR will be more than fine.. I just picked up a 171 last week and im using 14 JKUS with .21 gears and pulls 60mph @2krpm in 5th. I know another guy with Auto, says it just shifts more often but no issues. On the JK forums they had me worrying about pulling about anything with stock Sahara. No serious rear sag with normal tow hitch, actually levels JK out if you haven't done leveling kit. Live in PNW, handles hills just fine that ive been on. Only thing you'll need from stock is brake controller, and i got a primus IQ included with my Rpod.
