We got our 179 on 8/5 and the rdome is on backorder.  Called the dealer today and he said maybe one more week.  The original eta was 1-2 weeks.  Is there a real shortage of these things or am I getting the runaround here?

From our experience, being on our second r-pod, the r-dome comes with the pod from the factory.

Yes, I called around to get one & found a shortage. No local dealers had any near me.  LazyDays in AZ had one in stock for $735, the parts guy was a bit slow calling me back for a shipping quote, so I called the factory parts dept, They said they were back ordered, so about 4-6 weeks.  They put me down for one for $532!  I'll wait 4 weeks to save $200, thank you very much.

If that's the case I guess I'm in for a wait.  The dealer's 'it will get here when it gets here' attitude without any other explanation is a bit of a disappointment.  I just get the impression that they didn't even bother to ask the supplier before they gave me an eta.

Dometic had a bad run of domes where the waterproofing was bad and stained a bunch of them and they had to be replaced, and then they are also just as you've been told backordered.  It's been that way for the past few months.  Even Forest River doesn't have them readily available.

Those prices are crazy, I remember we paid $300.00 for the r-dome when we purchase our 171 back in 2009.

I wonder if they will sell the stained at a discount price or did. They throw them away, Orrrrrr was that just good story to get customers off their back!!!!!!!!!L

I've seen the stained Rdomes from several people who received them.  It's not just a story, that bad run of waterproofing is probably part of the issue for the backorders.
