Gas mileage

I did check while towing and it varied from 10.3 to 14. The times I was unhooked ranged from the 14 to 21. I didn't write down when I was towing and when I was unhooked but as I recall I was unhooked for 3 days in Denali when we entered the park. Then when we were in the Kenia I unhooked for 7 days while I fished and traveled to Seward for a day trip. Then 2 days in Valdez while I fished. The trip took 29 days. This is as accurate as I can be. It was overall a great trip. The trip was like driving through Glacier park everyday.

Marwayne did you notice any difference in towing with the V-front mod in how the trailer handled or gas mileage?

I just towed a 178 ruffly 1,200 miles with a Ford Ranger 4.0 and got 12 mpg at 2500-2800 rpm, 60-65 mph.  

I thought I would bring this thread alive. I am getting 13.5 to 15.5 depending on wind. If the wind is down or I am not pulling mountain grades I get 15-15.5 mpg  @ 60 MPH . I tried running 56 but the truck likes 60 better due to the torque curve. At 60 that is 1600 RPM on a 2011 F150 5.0 2WD RCSB 3.55 gear ratio.  This is with a full load of fresh water.
