How about adding a ladder on the back of the RPod to allow easy access to the roof?  On 182, ladder would need to be segmented.

While the roof can handle a person, it is possible the back can't.  The side walls are metal framing and the front & rear is wood framing, it is likely they would need to add bracing - and therefore more weight - which they wouldn't do since one of their selling points is the low weight.

What would you do with access to the roof?  I know there are maintenance issues up there, but, to me anyway, those don't seem to justify carrying a ladder around all the time.

I agree, all the maintenance  can be done at home.

Agreed...if I have to do a hasty repair on the roof in the field...I'll pull my TV along side and use it for a platform to work from.

Ditto!   There isn't space or weight capacity for any storage pods....

The r-pod does not have a walk on roof as some campers do. Our Vibe does not have one and I think teckntrek may have said it best that lite weight campers generally do not. The Lance trailers are the only fairly lite trailers I can think of with a ladder. It would be nice for washing the camper but I think a folding step ladder would make more sense or like as been mentioned a vehicle parked a long side.

The pods may not technically have a walk-on roof, but it will handle the weight of an adult.  My new camper has a walk-on roof but I'm not sure yet how I'm going to get up there since it is 10.5 feet off the ground!

Interesting, compact so it can go on the road for slide-out roof inspection or emergency access if something goes wrong up on the main roof.
