Very nice shelf. What brand and color stain did you use?

Purchases as is without alterations at Lowes in the closet/shelf organizer section. I'm told these babies are getting hard to find. Good luck!

Jackwho, I love this! How do you extend the pads to create a enough tension? Or is the valance bearing the weight?

So... you drilled a 1/4" hole into the shelf end and then inserted the bolt head into the hole... have I got that right? How deep did you drill?

Excellent Idea! How much head room do you have between the shelve and the mattress? I have the pod in storage for the winter other wise I'd be able to find out for myself.

jackwho This method worked great! Movable/removable and no drilling into the pod.

The valance bears some weight. The set up for the tensioners is like this: 10-32 bolt thru non-skid pad, 10-32 nut tightened down to hold pad at the end of the bolt. End of shelf rails drilled 1/8 pilot 2 1/2" deep, then larger hole to accommodate the bolt diameter. One last drill out to 5/8" depth to set the 10-32 tee nut in the end of the shelf rail. I also put a second nut on each bolt tightened against the tee nut to prevent the tensioners from turning further into the tee nut.

I just had a crazy thought... Please let me know if I am indeed crazy.

I need a new shower curtain rod for my home and I had the thought to use two curtain rods to span the width over the bed, then rest the shelf on the curtain rods. Any thoughts on a good, or bad idea? I found curtain rods on Amazon that will extend long enough and can support 30 lbs each.

I'm not a fan of any solution that results in putting any force, at all, against the sidewalls. I mean like zero. Smile
