I have the Lippert Axle and it calls for grease seal Part # 122087 and Lippert direct wants $11.00+ to ship a 2.00+ Part. (They don't use USPS)
Does any body have a better source? Can you find them locally? |

Most auto part stores have replacement seals as well as RV repair shops

Are the part numbers the same in the auto parts stores...I don't want to "eye ball" this one.

That grease seal is a double lip 1.69 inside diameter and 5.565 Outside diameter grease seal. As long as the replacement met those specs you should be good.

EDIT: This Description from LIPPERT does not match yours: Lippert
Parts OK Thanks. Sure would like to upgrade that "should" to "will" I'm looking for the absolute correct part. If the seals leak, grease contaminates the brakes. Does anyone here on the forum service and repack their POD wheel bearings? Amazon has them, but...the description doesn't say anything about double lip. Is this the correct seal? Does anybody know who manufactures the seals? Is it AP? Does anybody know for sure...are the AP seals used by Lippert? AP

Last time I needed a seal, I took mine off & went to the local trailer dealer, the one that does farm trailers. They had them, cheap. They can do a cross ref by looking at your part #.

JStrube is right on, look on the Lippert web site for a trailer dealer in your area and they should have all the parts that you need. Goose

Sure, I can bounce around town stopping and asking "do you have one of these" while the POD sits in pieces, but I was hoping someone on the forum has already sourced it. If not, no problem...I will. Thanks.

Trailer axle seals are standard sizes. I just go down to Princess Auto (or occasionally Canadian Tire) and pick up a set of 3500lb axle seals, just like I've gone there for axle seals for every other trailer (camper or utility) that I've owned over the past 30 years.

Thanks for the input Outbound. I called a couple of local auto parts stores and basically around these parts they want a year, make, model, engine size, and transmission type, without it they are lost. My understanding is that grease seal size is determined by bearing type and that not ALL 3,500 lb hub seals are the same. I think I may have found a good source here: Grease Seals - Double Lip - 10-19 (pair) TruRyde Seals for Trailer Bearings RG06-050 UPDATE: This pair are for Dexter axles which have a slightly different ID than Lippert. 1.719 vs 1.690, respectively. I'll verify this tomorrow. This is the first time I will be servicing the POD bearings so I'm trying to establish a good source so I can get them whenever I want them without trouble or wasting time. If I had a good source like Princess Auto, I'd be set. Thanks again...
