When we picked up our pod, the fella orienting us to it showed us where the gas detector was and cautioned us about letting the dog sleep under the dinette.  He said his dog got gassy one night and woke everybody up sort of all of a sudden so to speak.

Has anyone else heard of this happening?

Yes  We had a tent trailer and as our beagle got old she set off the gas detector.

Good luck with your new unit

You campers with gassy dogs have a real advantage. The sensors on the device can only be tested by actually setting if off by using a test agent, or real gas fumes. The test button only will test the power and the sounder, not the sensors. So your gassy dogs are doing there part to keep you safe! Thumbs Up

We have 3 labradors.  That could constitute a lethal dose in a pod with the windows shut.  So your point is well taken.

We have sulfur well water I put that in our fresh water tank and the fumes of the sulfur water set the alarm off. We did that once I learned my lesson how sensitive the gas detector is.
