New 178 owner

We picked up our 2016 178 2 days ago.  Managed to back it in the drive and am now trying to figure out what to do before taking it out for the first time.  Big change from pitching a tent.  Found a leak in the back window over the bed.  I'm thinking of Judy caulking instead of taking it back to the dealer.  Any thoughts about a self fix?

Welcome.  With many things I would agree that you should take care of it yourself.  Years ago there were problems with the rear window seals which required the window to be removed and re-mounted.  In this case since you are under warranty I would take it back.  You want that seal to be done right and since it can be done for free, take advantage of that.I've had my own fill of bad RV service experiences courtesy of complete idiots that should have known better so I know what you are trying to avoid.  But this fix is one for the dealer - one that knows what they are doing hopefully.

Thanks all. We took it back since there was no calking at all and a light had to be repaired.  It was worth the visit because we needed a more thorough run through.   First one was done by one of the service guys who did not seem too familiar with the rpod.  Second run through was with a guy who took his time to cover everything.  Covered keeping it plugged in with an adaptor until I get a 30 amp outlet installed.  Our first trp is next week.  We hope to hook with some other podders soon.

Welcome, def think taking it back was the right move with it being under warranty.  Being a good DIYer in the future will pay off though so don't worry.
