I am having trouble with my water heater in my 182g.
Worked great last week, will not fire this week. There is a full propane tank and all gas appliances work. New anode this spring. Made sure it was full of water before flipping the switch. The reset light never turns off and the unit does not light. Neither reset button on the unit needs to be reset. Any thoughts from anyone?

Thanks!
Thanks and Happy Camping!

Are you saying it doesn't work on either gas or electric?

Might be worth checking the 12v fuse for the water heater.  It takes 12v to light the flame. Just a guess.

And sometimes the WH won't light for a couple of hours, then it will.  Something about gas pressure... I don't know -- but you might walk away from it for a while and try it again later.

This just baffles me. The only thing common to gas and electric is the water flow. I don't think there's any electrical or control common between the electric element and the gas burner. You say everything was working last week, so what was done between last known working and now? Have you checked the bypass valves? If  they are in bypass mode you will get cold water from the hot water taps.

Check the wiring in the WH access compartment. Anything knocked loose when you replaced the anode? I think the red light on the propane side switch confirms 12V on the heater, but check WH 12V fuse just in case. Check WH 120V circuit breaker. Turn off, then back on to confirm. Verify the small black rocker switch on the heater itself is on.

If the red light stays on the on/off switch must be turned off, then back on to recycle the counter.

Probably just air in the gas line. If you didn't when you set up, always make sure the valve is open all the way and purge some of the air in the lighting both stove burners for 15-20 seconds.

Not 100% on this but after the burner tries 3 times to light it may time out for a while.

Correct. It will time out and the light will stay lit until reset by turning the switch off and back on.

Look for wasp nests or leaf cutter bee nests around the gas orfice.  Or on the pilot light.   On a previous camper we had a wasp nest the size of a large grapefruit in the furnace.

Ok, thanks for all the input. Here is what I have found out so far.
I believe my circuit board for the gas side of the heater is bad. I found ( had no idea it was there) a small breaker switch on the bottom left of the furnace that was cotter pinned in the off position. After speaking with an RV repair person, he said that the breaker runs the electrical side of the heater and that if I turn the breaker on, the heater will work.
I have turned it on and can hear the element heating. Will have to deal with the circuit board issue when I get back home. Third night on the road and twenty one left!!
Will keep you posted on what happens.
Thanks and Happy Camping!
