Calendar Event: Manual override of slide Posted: 22 Jun 2015 at 11:27am |
I was told that the manual override, crank nut was below the stove in my new R Pod 178. Do I have to remove the panel to get to it? I can see a black metal box surface in the space below the slide, but no nut. This is just in case I need to manually move the slide in some day.

If you have a Schwintek slide, I attached a video from Lippert that shows how to elecronically override the slide and mechanically override it. I'm not sure if R-Pods have a controller that is easily accessable. A Schwintek slide is the one that has an aluminum gear bar at the top and bottom of your slide. There also some videos from Lippert that show how to lubricate the internal gear assembly behind the slide wipe seal.....

Yes, you have to remove the panel inside the POD under the stove near the floor, 4 screws. It's not a schwintech slide, its the Lippert over the floor slide. The crank wrench will fit it, and you are suppose to dis-connect the electrical on the motor to prevent back flow current.

Remember once you disconnect the electric motor, you need to brace it shut, to keep it closed.

Pretty sure that is on the Schwintech slide only.
