I strongly agree with Outbound! By disconnecting you could be creating a safety issue for you and your family.

A CO detector is not the same as a LP detector. An CO detector will sound an alarm if there is a build-up of burnt (and semi-burnt) fuel; CO also latches onto red blood cells rendering them incapable of moving oxygen, which makes exposure particularly lethal. An LP detector will sound an alarm if there is a build-up of unburnt propane gas (i.e. a potentially explosive situation). You should already have a factory-installed, battery-operated CO alarm in your trailer, as well as the factory-installed, battery-operated smoke detector. I strongly urge you to keep your LP detector. You may wish to disconnect your battery during storage to prevent it from draining your battery. Alternatively, you may wish to install a battery disconnect switch (which many of us have done) to simplify the process.

Your batteries were low. Again, it will alarm when the batteries get low. It's doing it's job.

Thanks for all the inputs and comments. I connected the Rpod to 110V this morning to recharge the batteries for an upcoming trip. I noticed the LP detector was not beeping after work, I guess I have an intermittent problem. If it happens again, I plan to remove it and replace it with a battery operated CO detector.. $19 from home depot.

Propane isn't the only substance that will set off the LP alarm. RV antifreeze will set it off, some cleaners will set it off, Febreeze will set it off, as will (if she's positioned close by) my dog's farts. Although the farts are the most annoying (particularly at 2:00am when I'm woken from a dead sleep), RV antifreeze can be the most troublesome to clear. But... you did say "beeping", not "SCREAMING". Beeping indicates that the line voltage is low. Generally, this is a low battery warning, but I suppose it could also be caused by a heavy load on the battery as well; or even a wonky converter (although either of these last two is highly unlikely). And, of course, there's also the possibility that the LP detector is defective.

What is the charge status of your battery? That detector will alarm on a low battery.

We had the same problem with our 179. Went to our dealership explained to the what happened, they tested it, found that it was bad and replaced it at no cost. The tech said sometimes they just go.
