We have to share with fellow poders who are looking to replace single step with double steps!!

We just replaced our single step with Flexco Double steps from Etrailer, cost is $89 and well worth it.

I'm sure several of you have experienced sore knees or legs after going in and out of you pod several times a day camping.

We've been searching and have read some other postings about adding new steps.

We found 2 types on etrailer.com, 1 is by Lippert LC341500 which I know several podders have used and had to make adjustments because they are only 25 1/4" wide mounting bracket to bracket.

The pod steps are 26" bracket to bracket and so are the Flexco SMFP-2100.

We was able to use the same mounting bracket as the old ones and only had to make the back hole a little bigger it only took 30 minutes or less.

These are awesome steps, well made and they are MADE IN USA!!

Highly recommend and NO more aching knees !!

I'm getting a 2 step right a way. I just got my 2016 R-Pod 179 HRE with the rizers. I got it home, and was taking out the mattress and slipped off the step (misjudged it), and fell. I twisted my ankle and foot coming down, and tried to break my fall with my arm, and came down in such a way I dislocated my shoulder. I'm sitting here 2 days later writing this, sore, and still hobbling.

Be safe!!

Sorry to hear about that, Akula. Next time push the mattress out of the door first so you can land on that.

I could use the 2 step also. The brackets on my 2015 179 are welded 26" apart. The single step data description i found lists the original step as being 26" wide. The step you installed is listed as being 26 1/8" wide on the Etrailer website. Does it fit between the mounting brackets ?
Thanks,
Rob

Rob----Mine measured the same as yours.  The Flexco step fit perfectly.  The one thing that I had to do was elongate one of the holes on each side to make the bolts fit.  Very easy to do.  At the dealer, they wanted $147 for the exact same step.  If you watch, etrailer has free shipping offers.  I think this was one of the best things I have done to the trailer so far.
