I suppose it depends in part on what's covered, what isn't, and the cost.
I've found with most things, electronics for example, that if there's a problem it's going to be
there right off.  Problems that develop down the road are another matter.  You have a one-year warranty on the Rpod, so anything that comes up during that time is already covered.
It's kind of redundant to buy an extended warranty that covers the same period of time.

My Rpod came with a "free" lifetime warranty.  I put that in quotes because it's anything but free.
In order to stay in effect, I have to take the RV in once a year for an inspection/service, for which they will charge me $100.  (This is separate from winterizing and de-winterizing)
If I miss a year, the warranty is over.  So if I keep the RV for 10 years, I will have paid $1,000 for a "free" warranty.  Good deal, huh?  :)
However, RV repairs are very expensive these days, one or two major repairs, and I might come out ahead, who knows.

You can purchase a one year extension directly from Forest River for $150.  I never buy extended warranties, but for that small cost (relative to the purchase cost) I did get that.

If you want an all-inclusive 7 year warranty (roughly, I forget the exact time period) we've discussed the Protective Xtraride warranty here before, it is offered by a private company.  They've been around a long while so they aren't a fly-by-night operation.  Their cost is about $650.

Hi techntrek I will be picking up our 180 r pod tomorrow and would also Like to purchase the $150 extra year extension. How would I go about it,would I ask the dealer or would I have to contact Forest River directly and if so would you still have the contact info. I'm definitely not interested in the high dollar warranty the dealer offers.

At $650, considering what it covers (pretty much everything, and towing) and for how long, the extended warranty I mentioned isn't a bad deal.  Probably for the same warranty for over $3k, that's a rip-off.

I also forgot to mention the $3300 was also including a $500 discount. When I refused the offer they conveniently said they could possibly give me an incentive of a $1000. Wow what a markup.
