Hey everyone...

I'm a long time lurker and first time poster. I've been on the hunt for an R-Pod this summer and either keep missing them or I find something I don't like. Today I came across a 2011 176T with the kitchen slide. Everything about the pod was great and I was getting excited that I'd finally score one. Great salesperson, very honest, and he pointed out some previous signs of a leak (it was a trade in on their lot and it's been there since June).

The dinette window on the door side had a small leak at one time from the roof edge. It's been resealed (heavily) as has all the vents on he roof and the edge of the spoiler. On the interior you can feel tiny bumps in the wall paper but nothing soft or damp. On the exterior when you look right down the side you can see a wave in the exterior panelling from the top of the window and it runs down along the side. It's subtle but it's there and it caused me concern.

I could also see some rust stains (looked like drips) on the metal right where the tent end extends behind some interior fabric... thinking that is from the spoiler leaking.

I'll attach some pictures.... tell me what you think podders! I appreciate the help!

Jeff

If you look close you can see the wave in the finish near the back of the trailer.

Welcome to the group! If it was me I would wait and keep looking. Don't
want to buy problems. There is a lot to be said for peace of mind. There are still a lot of pods out there ( or in here)  for sale.

Thanks Leo...

That was my first thought when I left today... any unknown damage (especially water) was just a deal killer regardless of the great price.

If you watch the Camper's Flea market section. They will have all kinds of pods listed for sale. Some I have seen have been in mint condition.

Yup that is delaminating.  Nothing you'd want to fool with.

I won't touch it... Have another in the general local area I'll have a look at.

Thanks all!

It seems to me that whomever buys that Pod will be forever unhappy regardless of whatever discount the seller provides.  As others have mentioned there are plenty of solid  used Pods to buy.  Just take your time and do your due diligence before making a purchase.  Safe Travels.
