when I went to r-pod web site it asked to choose from west or Midwest -why?  Is there a differance in the R-pods?

Well, location and there are two plants. One in Oregon and the other in Indiana. The Oregon plant manufacturers the Hood River Edition (HRE). The HRE edition will have risers and 15" rims and LT tires. Basically a light "off road" package.

Their distribution area map leads me to think they try not to ship over the Rockies.

This is correct. Understand though, that there is no issue "crossing the border" to buy a camper, other than logistics. I know there are HRE's in the east, and non HRE's in the west.
