But the boombox works from 12 v dc.. Seems I was able to charge phone while on battery power last trip. Might be mistaken.

It is true, you won't be able to use the USB charger on a wall plug adapter if you are off the grid (except generator). In this case, you may be able to get by on your TV.

Don't follow you. Why would the usb plug not work from the boom box while on battery only?

He is talking about the wall plug posted, not your radio. 3 different conversations and options going on here.

Just don't get the version with the transmogrifier.

All reports are that the Mark II is fine. Hard to come by though..
