After our first year of owning our 177 we replaced our back window curtains with a shade that could easily be maneuvered up and down.  Now, after 5 years it is time to replace those cheesy metal blinds with something nicer.  What have you used to get a similar effect?  Want something that has a similar effect as the blinds where you can get air flow as well as privacy if necessary.  Thanks.

If you want something done right, do it yourself.

Marwayne,

Do you have some construction details you would care to share? I am interested in how you fastened these cabinets in place.

Here are some step by step pics. I use coarse thread dry wall screws.

Since I put a shelf in above the bed in our 179, I don't think I will use the cabinets like you made. However, I think I may try to put something in above the kitchen area. A spice cabinet would be nice as well as a cabinet on which a small vent hood for the stove could be mounted would also be nice. Some of the same techniques you used would be helpful in accomplishing that.
