Hello there. My name is Sean. I bought a 2016 rpod179 last september. Luckly i was able to get out 3 times before i put it up for the winter.  I just love my unit. I was told the sreen room add-on was a bad buy. And i'm glad i passed on it. This fall i ran into another 179 pod owner with the room and he hates it..I just got done making a white waning for my pod. Ill post pics as i get the pod out for the spring..As i work for a tent company i could mimic some of the stress point needs..Hope evryone has an enjoyable camping season..Sean

They must have changed them somewhat from what us 'smaller' pod owners have.  Our r-dome came with our 177 in March of 2011.  Install it by myself in about 10 minutes, less time than that for take-down.  Outside of having it blow down in a nasty storm with high winds and trying to keep no-see-ums out, no problems with ours.

Welcome.  We bought our 2015 Rpod 178 last Sept and have yet to use it.  We have spent the all this time remodeling and decorating it.  Our first trip will hopefully be April/May.

Welcome!

I would really like to see those pictures when you can post them. I am thinking about making two items. The first is a cover for the slide-out on our 179. The second is an awning. I'm not sure if I want to make one the full length of the track or just one sufficient to cover the back over the door with some extra for the sides to shield the door when it rains.

Can you explain the "stress point needs?"

I am a new 179 odder with the axle riser  & was soooo disappointed with the R-dome for it... (see pix)

So imagine how excited I was when I found the following online yesterday... a 2016 "Woodie" R-Pod 179 with a Fiamma Awning (made right in my "backyard" Orlando Florida - see attached... I think I could live with this!!!!

Here it is in traveling position:

Does anybody else love this?Star

I really don't know if this is a custom fit or not. I looked up the website and they have a 10'1" awning. I measured my Rpod 179 & from the far edge of the door to the inside of the window and I do believe the 10'1" will fit right in there. This company seems to do a lot of specialty retrofit awnings for all sorts of vehicles VW buses motorhomes etc. their phone number is listed on their website if I recall correctly and you could give them a call make sure you get the US company.
