We just picked up our 179 yesterday! We have gone from a tent trailer to an R Pod and really have a lot to learn. I have read many many posts about everything and have learned so much so thank you for that.

I do have a question...  I read the post about mice, we just recently had an issue with a mouse in the tent trailer, we will use the expandable foam but what do you do with the dryer sheets? And the cotton balls with peppermint oil?

Glad to be in this group!

We did use the spray foam to seal up both our pods. Worked great! Never tried the other two you mentioned.

Congratulations John and Ruthie on your purchase and new members on this forum.  Every winter we put our 177 into 'hibernation' mode in our horse barn.  And even with a cat we had damage to our Jayco popup as they managed to get inside and make a mess of the canvas.

We have had our 177 in the same location (horse barn) for the past 5 winters and have not had any issues with mice.  I do the following to negate their entrance:  steel wool the 2 exhaust ports coming out of your furnace, 3 dryer sheets inside - front - middle-back.  I know there are mice in that barn because I see them scurrying about every now and then plus I see our cat proudly bringing them out for us to seeBig smile and approve.
