We have modified an RV table in the past with a similar design. The only difference is the bottom holder are tripod legs, which allows you to remove it and place it any where. Similar to this http://www.mtsrv.net/store/shopexd.asp?id=149...Porta-Leggs. This will be another one of our spring mods.

Yes, I think I saw that Mod John ... Great Idea.
I think that Cindy and I will actually be taking the table outdoors when a picnic table is not supplied at the campsite. We will be carrying a few TV Trays with us for misc reasons, and this would be one of them. We also have a camping tri-fold table Ive had for years that we pack up too.
We use the Tri-fold for putting all the outdoor cooking stuff on, along with other stuff too.
It'll be great when all of us get to actually camp-out next Spring/Summer and take some pictures of our Camp-Setups !!! Im sure that will be as educational as the Mods inside the Pod !!
HAPPY PODing !!!

So now I am thinking about trying to convert to this which would be a lot less expensive and less weight than the hydrolic one I really want. Looks like it would be a lot easier than those 2 ironing board legs- and you just take the leg off for storage/transport/bed conversion.
Has anyone tried someting like this? Looks like it comes in several different heights- so I have to go out and measure the table height we want before ordering. Sure is cheap enough....hope it works.

In the Maintenance Issues, Tips and Tricks forum, there's a thread called List your mods: NO COMMENTS PLEASE, which has become a repository for all the mod ideas. There are lots of great ideas in there! |

The only thing I don't like about the table in the 177 is that is a gap between the wall and table when you have it up.

I noticed that too Tusten !!
Support is of most importance with that mod.
Im not sure how light TVs are these days, but something to consider.
I was more impressed with the TV arm than the table mod ..
I will be doing a table mod in the spring, just dont know what yet.
Others have replaced it as a bed support using a piece of wood, and storing it
when not in use. Im sure the wood support, if cut in two, would be easily stored somewhere.
The actual table issue is another story. Its really to bad, its a nice table, but just
not to our flavor. It'll do fine till we see or discover a mod we cant resist.
And there will be one, we all know that !!
Thats a sweet pedestal Tusten !!! Good luck with that mod !!!
HAPPY PODing !!!

I've asked Santa for something like this for Christmas- a marine type pedestal table base.
But what REALLY caught my eye in the video is the flat screen TV mount that looks to be mounted to the refrigerator/microwave cabinet. There must be more support than the plywood we have, but that area is my goal for a larger television.
