This has been talked about before but, a refresher is not likely to hurt. It is from the KOA newsletter. Feel free to add your own comments.

All great rules.  I especially like #17 NO GENERATORS, this is probably one of the more abused rules we hear, hey we're camping, let's enjoy the out of doors w/o  the noise and # 19.  If we were to live by "treating others the way we would wish to be treated", this whole world would be a much better place to live.

Sorry, but if it's 85+ degrees outside and I'm boondocking it, I will be running generators to power the A/C. I will shut them down when it cools off.

By definition, if boondocking/dispersed camping, you shouldn't be close enough to other campers to have to worry about it. At least the way we do it. (but we don't use a genny anyways)

There are loops in some campgrounds that don't allow generators, and that's great. There are different kinds of camping and campers (people) though and there is usually room somewhere for camping with generators. May as well try to ban kids.

The ones I have are quiet enough that you can barely hear them if you're on the opposite side of the trailer. Having been around loud generators, I can understand the concern. At my first outing with our 179, a guy was running a generator about 30 feet away that was loud enough that I couldn't hear my own generators when practically standing next to them.

Maybe the advice should be if you must run generators, run quiet ones.

What do you have for a generator? What are the spec on the decibels it puts out?
Thanks
