I bent one of the stabilizer jacks on my R-Pod 178 and need to replace it.  Currently there are four Tristar 2500 scissor jacks on my trailer.  I am curious whether any other R-Pod owners have replaced scissor jacks; and if so, whether there is any benefit or drawback to going with heavier duty scissor jacks.

Welcome to the group! We bent a stabilizer jack on our st r-pod, a 171. We replaced it at our dealership with a similar jack. These jacks are used to just stabilize the pod, not lift it or anything so I am not sure you would need something heavy duty with extra weight.

Yep, I replaced a right rear because on the morning on our first night of camping I decided the nose of the POD was a little low and so I cranked on the tongue jack 3 times before I realized I was scrunching my rear stabilizers!  You don't mention how you bent yours???

I was going into a mini mart in Maryland, which apparently had what seemed like a drainage gutter around it's parking lot, my wife said that I wasn't going to make it..................................she was right. Bent the rear stabilizer and rubbed it right off the back end.

We bent one of our rear stablisers entering a garage, then bent other on a bit of a rise off road. Thought about it and have removed them [4 screws] then had bolted a square bar to stabliser plate [so it swivels to aid storage]. The bar then fits into chassis and works a treat and gives us an extra 12cm clearence

OK uploading a couple of images of the stabliser mod. It is the 1st iteration and I will probably redo so it 'looks' a bit more professional Embarrassed
1st image is jammed stabliser, 2nd image is a modded view, 3rd image has explanations. I have made the images a large as poss so you can see detail

Thank you. We have not had a problem so far, but I like the idea of being able to swivel the jacks instead of having them at a fixed angle. That alone would make this a good mod.

we have used them for 3 setups so far and they appear to work well. The extra clearance is great Thumbs Up
