I was dry camping this weekend so I like to monitor my battery usage so I don’t run it down to far. My volt meter showed that the battery voltage had dropped. I thought this was strange because nothing was on, so I went out front and hooked my current clamp to the battery cable and something was drawing about 1.5 amps. When I went back inside I saw what it was, I had hooked my phone and my wife’s phone up to a high output dual phone charger and each phone was drawing about .75 amps. I also have an older dual charger and that outputs about .5 amps per phone but it takes longer to get the phone to 100%. I have added this to my list of current draws I have posted in my trailer. There are other phone charges that can output even more current.

I picked up a 20,000 mAh portable battery from Amazon and it should cover off any of our charging needs for our two phones and two tablets for our weekends without power.  Hopefully there won't be much time where the kids are on the tablets, but when my 2-year old is napping and it's raining the kids might get some screen time ;-)  For $30 I couldn't resist - so much power in such a small package!
