Hi!
Jeff and I want to purchase the Dometic (alternatives?) cabana dome.....wondering about size, flooring, fit for our R-pod 178 and where we can purchase at the best price.  Any and all info/experience is much appreciated.
Thanks!
Molly and Jeff Fortuna

Welcome.  You can buy them online but they aren't cheap.  You could buy several EZ-up types of awnings for much less.  We usually used our two EZ-ups and rarely used our Dome.

Search the forum and you will find a lot of info and opinions about the dome. Some like it, some love it and others don't use it. Personally, we use it every chance we can-particularly if we will be set up in one place for multiple nights or in case of bad weather. After a few uses, 2 people can set it up in about 10- 15 minutes. It basically is a half tent that zips onto the pod. After you set up the dome, mark the 3 roof support poles for the length needed with magic marker makes it easier. We need a bucket to stand on when we slide the dome into the rail. It also helps to lube the rail with silicone, make sure all of the screws are tight and no heads are  protruding into the rail opening . Also,  slightly flare and file smooth each end of the rail to make it easier to seat the slider action.
Enjoy and travel safe
